Museums and galleries

Inter Faith Week is a tremendous opportunity to highlight aspects of your collection which relate to the different religious communities in the UK and also develop and strengthen local community stakeholder links.

At this time of COVID-19 and social distancing, the Week will have a strong virtual component.  Museums and galleries are particularly well placed to take advantage of this.  Just a few ideas that you may be interested to consider:

  • A virtual tour of selected artefacts in your museum or gallery which relate to religious traditions
  • Video of some local faith community members talking about how their faith is reflected in the museum/gallery and/or why it is important for museums and galleries to engage well with these communities
  • A specially curated mini exhibition about different faiths and beliefs
  • A socially distanced tour of relevant galleries
  • A social media series through the Week highlighting your museum/gallery’s contribution to creating understanding of our diverse society, in particular the diversity of faith and belief
  • A multi faith music session (without singing) in one of the spaces of your museum or gallery
