    Strangers and Pilgrims - C of E St Albans Diocese Inter Faith Week Event

    Diwali

    West Yorkshire Hindu Police Association and Bradford Hindu Council are supporting Bradford's Council's Foster Children's care services with an event on the festival of Diwali.
    The foster children are aged between 4 and 15 years of age and all of different faiths with approximately 20-25 attending.
    There will a small presentation on Diwali itself, before we have fun and games.
    Producing Rangoli patterns, painting clay diya lights followed by a visit to the temple.
    The children will take away with them knowledge of another faith, and the festival of Diwali. They will also be given a little surprise pack containing Diwali goodies. …

    Hands of Friendship

    During Inter Faith Week we are thinking about those that are important in our lives. We will be decorating hands, with all those who are special to us, writing or drawing in the palm, something that brings us hope.
    We are also learning makaton signs for the song "put a little love in your heart", that singing hands have recorded on you tube. The Dougie Mac Hospice have invited local Schools, Spiritual, Religious and Pastoral communities to join in with us.

    Art therapy during Inter Faith Week aims to bring students with diverse perspectives to use art as a means of self-expression and exploration. Attendees may choose to share their art and discuss what it means to form a personal connection with something greater than themselves, be it through faith, an appreciation of nature, or other pathways.

    This one-off therapeutic group session is scheduled for the first day of Inter Faith Week and is for students who are curious about religious belief, faith, the theme, or art therapy in general. All UAL students welcome.…

    St Albans Faith and Culture Enterprise (FACE) are hosting their annual event to celebrate Inter Faith Week 2023 on Thursday 16 November 2023. Each year FACE invites people from different faith groups across the District to attend and discuss the issues facing their communities and the importance of strong relations between different faiths. This year it is also a celebration of the 10 year anniversary of FACE’s formation.

    Advent Spiral for Peace

    Advent is a traditional season when Christians prepare for Christmas. A powerful custom at this time is lighting candles as a symbol of light shining in darkness and of good overcoming evil in the world. We reflect on the past while gaining hope for our journey still to come.

    This year Cornwall Faith Forum invites you to an early Advent Spiral Reflection for Peace to coincide with Inter Faith Week. People from all faiths and age, beliefs or none, and anyone seeking peace, are invited to light a candle on our spiral, sharing a thought, reflection, reading or prayer on our theme a ’Pathway to Peace’.

    We will be making the Advent Spiral together and you might also want to bring with you a LED candle, some evergreen foliage and other Autumn natural items such as fir cones and leaves (make sure you leave our insect/invertebrae friends behind where they live!) We can also bring vegetarian food to share, affirming our common ground as we learn and build peace together.

    Bristol Diverse Doors Open Day

    Bristol Multi-Faith Forum (BMFF) is organising this year's Bristol Diverse Doors Open Day on Sunday the 19th of November 2023 from 9 am to 5.30 pm. The event is part of Inter Faith Week 2023. Bristol Diverse Doors Open Day celebrates the religious diversity of Bristol, giving communities the chance to experience and learn each other’s cultures and beliefs; and offering the opportunity to visit a range of places of worship and discover many faith communities that exist in Bristol.

    The Diverse Doors Multi-Faith Trail will start at 9 am on Sunday the 19th of November from the BMFF office. The event will finish by 5.30 p.m. The Faith Trail will pass through a Buddhist shrine, a Greek Orthodox Christian Church, a Seventh Day Adventist Church, a Muslim Mosque, a Sikh Gurudwara, a Jewish Synagogue, a Hindu Temple, and a Bahai Centre. BMFF will arrange a scheduled tour providing minibus transport for people who have signed up for the tour in advance, for a small donation.

    ‘Being a Good Neighbour’

    An inter faith service that will include various readings as well as contributions from the different faiths. There will be a zoom option for the service for those who can’t be there in person. Please contact York Unitarians on yorkunitarians@gmail.com for the zoom link. The service is due to finish at 12pm, and will be followed by a shared lunch at the Unitarian Chapel, St Saviourgate. There will be a ‘bring & share’ vegetarian lunch, so if you are able to bring food items along, please do so before the service starts. Everyone most welcome.     Inter Faith Week Service

    Guildford United Reformed Church, 83 Portsmouth Road, Guildford GU2 4BS. 14.30 – 18.00
    Annual Multifaith Service with members of the Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Sikh and Bahá'í communities contributing scriptural readings, music, and devotional dance. The event will be followed by shared refreshment.

    The Mayors of Guildford, Waverley & Godalming will also be taking part.

    Interfaith Service

    Guests will be welcome to join us for our normal Sunday Service in the Sai Mandir, including a celebration of Ladies' Day and the Interfaith Service. The service will consist of readings, prayers and songs by members of other faiths in the Borough, ending with refreshments and an opportunity to continue our interfaith dialogue.
    As we will be celebrating Ladies' Day, which falls on the same day, our lady devotees will be leading the religious service, which will include a talk on Breast Cancer Awareness.
