The Judicial System and Violence against Women and Girls/Hate Crimes

A virtual conference to learn more about the judicial system and how it relates to violence against women/hate crimes. The timetable is as follows:

10:00  The day will be opened by the DCCP - Deputy Chief Crown Prosecutor Sarah Hammond /Doug Mackay

10:10  Magistrates’ Court - An overview of the work of the magistrates’ court. This session will include an interactive Domestic Abuse case study. During the session you will be making the decisions a magistrates’ court lawyer needs to make daily. 

Session led by District Crown Prosecutor - Iain Willis 

11:10  Crown Court - An overview of the work of the Crown Court. This session will continue with the Domestic Abuse case study through the Crown Court. During the session you will be making the decision a Crown Court lawyer needs to make daily.
