    Celebrating Unity in Diversity at Ahimsa Peace Garden at Harrow Recreation Ground

    During Inter Faith Week, a specially-commissioned stone sculpture titled 'Unity in Diversity' will be be unveiled at the Ahimsa Peace Garden at Harrow Recreation Ground to celebrate our inter-connectedness and cultural diversity of Harrow. Since its clean-up and opening in late 2020, the Ahimsa Peace Garden is now being enjoyed by many residents and families in Harrow.     Inter Faith Week: Exhibition and Panel

    Suffolk County Council are taking part in Interfaith Week. We have been working in co-production with the local Multi-Faith Agency to create an exhibition display. This will include posters, artifacts, books and the board game 'Diversity'.

    We are also creating videos where people will talk a bit about their faith and this will be shared throughout the council.

    There will also be a panel talk where we will invite staff over lunchtime on 16th Nov to come to talk to people of different faiths about their religion/belief.

    We have plans in place for a week of activities across the five boroughs that make up Pennine Care Foundation Trust. These include Stockport, Tameside, Oldham, Bury and Rochdale. We will be having a stall in each borough with a lots of information about the different faith including copies of our new Faith and Culture booklet which will help staff understand the faiths, beliefs and culture of our service users and their carers. Each day we will be focusing on a different Faith Group Monday- Islam in Oldham; Tuesday Judaism in Bury; Wednesday Hindu’s and Sikh’s in Rochdale, Buddhism and Hindus in Tameside and Christianity in Stockport.

    Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg is a regular speaker on BBC Radio 4’s Prayer for the Day. He is Rabbi of the New North London Synagogue and has taken a leading role in the development of the Masorti Movement for traditional non-fundamentalist Judaism in England. In 2008 he was appointed Senior Rabbi of Masorti Judaism in the UK. He is a President of the Council of Christians and Jews and a member of the Council of Imams and Rabbis. He is a co-founder of Eco-Synagogue and deeply engaged in environmental issues and is closely involved in supporting refugees. Further interests include pastoral work, hospice care, and literature, especially poetry. He teaches and speaks widely. …
