Inter Faith Week prayers and meditations for climate justice
Thursday 16 November 12.30 – 13.00
Clive Steps, London, SW1A 2HQ
This Inter Faith Week, we warmly invite you to join our Inter Faith Prayers and Meditations for Climate Justice. At the end of November, global leaders will gather at the COP28 climate summit in Dubai. As the world slides further into climate breakdown, the UK government has a massive responsibility to minimise the impact of UK businesses on the planet by funding climate action, leaving fossil fuels in the ground and helping individuals to live their lives in a planet-friendly way. Through meditation, prayer and silence, we’ll bear witness to the UK’s role in climate injustice and pray for a reconciliation of our economy with our planet.
|Event held by||Christian Aid, Quakers in Britain, Faith for the Climate|
|Event categories||Environment/ climate event, Service or vigil|
|Important information||We will gather in front of the ‘Clive of India’ memorial (Clive Steps, London SW1A 2HQ). Behind us will be the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, a reminder of the UK’s power and potential to push for bold climate action at COP28.
This is a peaceful and lawful prayer and reflection gathering. The Met Police have been informed of our activity.
