    This week, we are organising Inter Faith Week. The aims of this are to strengthen good interfaith relations, increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities represented in our school, in particular celebrate and build on the contribution which their members make to our neighbourhoods and to wider society and to increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs. A range of activities are planned, including guest speakers in assemblies, for example, the Street Pastors, members of the Hindu community in Newbury and the Muslim community. The highlight of the week is the interfaith panel made up of representatives from religious and non-religious backgrounds. Year 9 and 13 students will get to ask them questions about their beliefs and practices as well as ask their perspectives regarding current affairs. Year 7 will get involved in a treasure hunt throughout the week as well as a quiz on Wednesday with lots of prizes to be won! …

    This Week is Inter Faith Week at our school. We started the week with an assembly discussing some of the similarities and differences between Islam and other religions.
    We also had a very important reminder on how we should learn about other religions and respect them. On Friday we welcomed some guests from the Christian faith, Jewish faith and Sikh faith to discuss their faith in an assembly with the juniors. Parampreet Singh from the Sikh Gurdwara in Cardiff represented the Sikh faith (online); Reverand Emma Ackland from the Anglican Church in Barry, represented the Christian faith; and Diana Soffa, a member from the Cardiff Jewish progressive community represented the Jewish faith. This was followed by a Q&A session by the children for our guests.…
