Cragg was an eminent scholar of Christian-Muslim relations and an original Christian thinker who read the Qur'an and Bible comparatively. He was a prolific writer over a wide variety of genres, from academic papers to translations of Arabic texts, to poems and prayers for interfaith occasions. Cragg was also influential in bringing Islam to the general readership of the Anglican Church from the mid-twentieth century onwards.

It will unfold in four sections:

    have understood Judaism
    * Recent scholarly perspectives on the Pharisees: a case in point
    * Peering behind and beyond the scholars’ methods: new perspectives on “old” texts

In post-war occupied Germany British and American Christians encountered Jews who had survived the years of Nazi persecution. Religious Diversity in the Workplace

    National Physical Laboratory, Hampton Rd, Teddington TW11 0LW. 12.00 – 13.00
In our multi-cultural society, we regularly interact with people who have different religions, faiths, or non-religious core-beliefs. Unfortunately, UK culture has historically avoided talking about this topic, resulting in wide-spread misinformation, prejudice, and discrimination. It’s time to create a more healthy dialogue around personal faith and belief, but it’s not easy to know how to get started. This session invites representatives from different UK institutions to share their experiences of supporting organisational and cultural change. We will hear from the Office of National Statistics, the National Physical Laboratory, and University of Leeds, including time for questions from the audience.

Penny Owen (Environment, Social and Governance Director at NPL) will be joined by Steve Martin-Drury – Statistical methodologist and member of the ONS All-Belief Network at the Office for National Statistics; Sebastian Wood – Principal Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), and co-founder of the NPL Faith and Religious Diversity Group; and Maria Hussain – Lecturer in Business Management at Leeds University Business School and a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy who also Co-Chairs the Muslim Staff Network at the University of Leeds.
