Online and in-person event hosted by the Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies Oxford - Drawing on his recently published book, The Muslim Difference (Yale 2022), Youshaa Patel explores the vexing Islamic discourse of reprehensible imitation (tashabbuh), a discourse that enjoins ordinary believers to embody and display their religious difference from Christians, Jews and others in public life. Moderating cross-cultural imitation and assimilation was as crucial to the construction of Muslim identity and alterity during Islam's formative period as it is today. This lecture situates the religious discourse within Islamic scripture and tradition, casting new light on a long history of how small differences have defined Muslim interfaith encounters.

The UKIYN EcoPeace Cafe is an online educational platform launched by The Religions for Peace UK Interfaith Youth Network.
It aims to empower young people to take eco-social and peacebuilding actions within and outside their faith communities. The platform offers action-based training and community building to equip, support, and empower young individuals to become skilled facilitators and agents of change.

Religions have different origins, developmental pathways, belief systems, and spiritualities. Yet there remains the possibility of a family resemblance between them. The tension, or ambiguity, inherent in the dynamic of ‘particularity in relation to universality’ is explored, argued over, and negotiated through interreligious dialogue. This talk ties the reality of religious experience to the demands and outcomes of interreligious dialogue. The speaker is Revd Canon Dr Alan Race who is Chair of the World Congress of Faiths and the editor of its journal ‘Interreligious Insight’. He is a retired Anglican priest-theologian, and the author of books and articles on the themes of theology of religions and interreligious dialogue.

This very special multifaith panel discussion for Inter Faith Week 2023 brings together expert black and ethnic minority faith leaders from diverse traditions to explore the protections offered by the Equality Act 2010 in the light of their personal experiences. The event seeks to promote understanding, respect and community cohesion between people of all religions and ethnicities, and address issues of unlawful discrimination, Harassment and Victimisation in faith and interfaith contexts.
The Equality Act 2010 provides protection against discrimination on grounds of "protected characteristics" and protects whistleblowers doing "protected acts" from Victimisation or Harassment.

Feargus O'Connor), this inter faith "Celebration for Animals" is an immersive liturgical experience designed to encourage participants to reflect on the relationships humans have with the diverse species with whom we share the planet.
