MyMixedHeritage 2026: Mixed-Faith Families Festival

Saturday 14 November 11.00 – 13.30

Ev Restaurant, 98 Isabella Street #The Arches London SE1 8DD

✨ Join us for the second edition of the MMH Festival!

MyMixedHeritage (MMH) is a safe space for mixed-faith couples, families and individuals. We foster interfaith dialogue starting from our lived experience. MMH is both a community and a movement: a place to connect, listen and learn from one another, and a space to push boundaries and speak up. We celebrate difference, and do not tolerate any form of hatred or discrimination.

Last year, we met in person for the very first time. This year, we're back with a festival built entirely around sharing stories and experiences of growing up in, living in, or building mixed families!

???? WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

Everyone! Whether you're part of a mixed family, exploring faith, working in interfaith dialogue, or simply curious about what it means to live across religious traditions, you're welcome.

???? WHAT TO EXPECT

We'll start by reflecting on the moments, people and traditions that shaped our relationship with faith, religion or spirituality. We will do this by drawing, or writing a life map!

Then we'll walk alongside one another: sharing our maps, listening to each other's stories and noticing what we have in common and where our journeys differ. Over an aperitivo, we'll mingle and peek at the other tables' maps. And finally, we'll turn everything we've heard into a shared manifesto on what we'd like the world to know about mixedness!

???? AGENDA

11:00–11:20 · Arrivals & welcome activity
Please arrive by 11:10 for a prompt start. Coffee and biscuits on us!

11:20–11:30 · Where we've been, where we're going
A short introduction for anyone new, a look back at last year's festival, and where we're heading next. We'll also explain how the day works, followed by a brief moment to pause and settle in.

11:30–11:45 · Life maps
With paper, pens and your tablemates, draw or write the moments that led you here. Why did you choose to spend your Saturday with us?

11:45–12:10 · Walking alongside one another
Take time to share your stories and really get to know each other's maps. Listen, ask, and notice what you have in common and where your experiences differ.

12:10–12:30 · Aperitivo!
We'll provide light refreshments and drinks; you keep the conversations going! Move around, talk to new people and have a look at the maps from other tables.

12:30–13:00 · Writing our manifesto
Building on our life maps and the stories we've heard from one another, we'll put into words what we'd like people to know about mixedness: how we've lived it, learnt from it and used it. These reflections will help shape the values of our community.

13:00–13:15 · Wrapping up
A thank you, a recap of what we've done, and a look at what's next!

13:15–13:30 · Goodbyes, and lunch if you'd like!
Anyone who'd like to is welcome to join MMH volunteers for an informal lunch afterwards (not provided: pay your own, venue to be confirmed).

We can't wait to see you there! ????

???? PLEASE NOTE
At MMH, we affirm every person's right to freedom of religion, and freedom within religion. In the context of relationships and families, this means the right of everyone to choose who they wish to be with, love, or marry, without restriction or judgment based on ethnicity, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. This commitment is central to everything we do and is not open for debate. If you plan to attend with the intention of contesting it, this event will not be the right space for you.
