    Inter Faith Week at University of Central Lancashire

    Oasis Multi-Faith Centre at UCLan. Kirkham Street, Preston PR1 2XQ
    Hosted by the Chaplaincy Team of UCLan, representing various worldviews, we have a programme of events for the day:
    12.00 – 15.00 Student Centre, Lower Ground Floor
    Table-top Displays: Representatives from various world beliefs will host a display and be available to answer questions
    17.30 – 19.00 Function Room
    Faith and Belief in the 21st Century: Members from the Chaplaincy Team, representing different world views will form a panel to answer questions from the audience and partake in a discussion.
    19.30 – 21.00 Function Room
    The Common Good: As part of the Lancashire Humanists monthly meeting, we have invited Nick Briggs to lead a discussion on how the concept of the Common Good can contribute to better dialogue in the public sphere.
    This meeting is open to people of all beliefs.

    Islamophobia Awareness Month Book display and National Exhibition

    As the sad and horrific events unfold in the Middle East, it is even more important that staff and students feel safe and supported on campus and in the wider community. Islamophobia Awareness Month is a national campaign to remove misunderstandings about Islam and Muslims living in the UK. The University’s Changing the Culture initiative and Report.It.To.Stop.It. campaign highlight the role that all of us can play in working together to stop all forms of hate crime, be it islamophobia, antisemitism, racism, homophobia, etc. The Islamophobia Awareness Month national touring exhibition, brought to you by the Middlesex University Inter Faith Network in the Quad.   Through mutual understanding we can individually and collectively make a difference!

    Illuminating the Word of God

    "Illuminating the Word of God" is the title for a series of talks which have taken place over the past year in places of worship around Newcastle. The talks have focused on how people of faith have drawn inspiration from their religion to illuminate the Word of God. Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Christian speakers, have given examples of how writers, sculptors, calligraphers, poets, composers and artists in general have drawn inspiration from their faith. We have invited groups of young people to contribute to the exhibition by making posters which will then be kept as a resource by the Religious Resource Centre.…

    The Refugee Experience Evening

    This event will be held at the University of Gloucershire's Oxtall's business centre atrium. There will be 4 interviews with people who have had to relocate, focusing on how their faith helped them to cope and how the faith community has welcomed them, each one ending with a short prayer from their faith tradition. Plenty of time between each one to network and enjoy free finger food prepared by Gloucester's English language school. The evening will end with a poem written by our Vice-Chair Atique Miah. …

    Inter Faith Week - Islamic Exhibition

    Queensgate, Huddersfield HD1 3DH
    The Islamic society at the University of Huddersfield is organising an Islamic Exhibition. Working alongside the Faith Chaplains, students and staff both Muslim and non-Muslim are invited to observe Friday Prayer. Guests will be given a translation of the chapter ‘Al-Fatiha’ from the Holy Quran, as well as a guide to the prayer and sermon. After the Friday prayer, an exhibition will be held with stalls of information on Islam and the 5 Pillars, a calligraphy workshop, Islamic attire for guests to try on, Sunnah (Prophetic) foods and Arabian tea.…
