    Epping Forest District Museum - Faiths in the Forest Online Exhibition

    Epping Forest District Museum will be holding an online exhibition on its website https://www.eppingforestdc.gov.uk/museum, which will also be displayed digitally at the museum, allowing visitors to learn more faiths within the Epping Forest District.

    Ahead of the exhibition, the Museum has been working to identify gaps in its photograph collection and working to add some reflecting the Jewish lived experience within the Epping Forest District. It is working alongside Chabad Lubavitch Buckhurst Hill (https://www.chabadonthehill.co.uk/) and other members of the Jewish community to collect photographs, including photographs of Jewish holidays and menorah lightings throughout the district, to ensure the collection remains relevant and reflective of the district's community. …

    During Inter Faith Week, a specially-commissioned stone sculpture titled 'Unity in Diversity' will be be unveiled at the Ahimsa Peace Garden at Harrow Recreation Ground to celebrate our inter-connectedness and cultural diversity of Harrow. Since its clean-up and opening in late 2020, the Ahimsa Peace Garden is now being enjoyed by many residents and families in Harrow. There will be activities for the entire community to enjoy such as planting bulbs, pebble painting and writing messages of peace, as well as speeches from representatives of Harrow Interfaith and local dignitaries to promote the message of unity and harmony.…

    Inter Faith Week: Exhibition and Panel

    Suffolk County Council are taking part in Interfaith Week. We have been working in co-production with the local Multi-Faith Agency to create an exhibition display. This will include posters, artifacts, books and the board game 'Diversity'.

    We are also creating videos where people will talk a bit about their faith and this will be shared throughout the council.

    There will also be a panel talk where we will invite staff over lunchtime on 16th Nov to come to talk to people of different faiths about their religion/belief.
    We will be providing quizzes as a way of interacting with staff. …

    Footprints for the Future

    Fermanagh and Omagh District Council will host a ceremony to celebrate the diversity of cultures and faiths that exist in the area by planting trees and burying a time capsule for future generations to enjoy and learn from. The trees will be planted in a diversity garden by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council staff, members of Fermanagh and Omagh Interfaith group and local volunteers. Following the tree planting a time capsule, which contains artefacts from a variety of faiths and cultures in the district will be buried to be opened in 100 years time.

    Talk - After Belsen: Christian Encounters with Jews in the Aftermath of the Holocaust

    In post-war occupied Germany British and American Christians encountered Jews who had survived the years of Nazi persecution. In liberated concentration camps and Displaced Person centres, through interfaith campaigns and the immigration movement to Mandate Palestine, army chaplains, relief workers, and interfaith activists listened to survivor testimony. They witnessed the rebuilding of Jewish community life, debated their understanding of antisemitism, and advocated causes which could shape the future of Jews in Europe and elsewhere. This lecture will explore some of these unique stories of Christian-Jewish encounters in the wake of the Holocaust.…
