    Inter Faith Week sessions

    Kendal. 7.00 – Sunday 19 November 19.30
    Westmorland and Furness Diversity, Equity & inclusion Partnership (WFDEIP) will hold 2 sessions at home every day of Inter Faith Week in support of the Week. These will be at 7am and 7pm for half an hour. Please feel welcome to read The Golden Rule and to undertake an appropriate practice from any faith or none (e.g., chanting, meditation, reading, reciting). The Golden Rule is available at https://worldfaiths.org/our-poster/. This event is free and all are welcome to attend.

    Inter Faith at University of Central Lancaster

    Oasis Multi-Faith Centre at UCLan. Kirkham Street, Preston PR1 2XQ
    Hosted by the Chaplaincy Team of UCLan, representing various worldviews, we have a programme of events for the day:
    12.00 – 16.00 Multi-Faith Room Table-Top Displays:
    Representatives from various world beliefs will host a display and be available answer questions.
    17.30 – 19.00 Function Room Faith and Belief in the 21st Century:
    Members from the Chaplaincy Team, representing different world views will form a panel to answer questions from the audience and partake in a discussion.
    19.30 – 21.00 Function Room The Common Good
    As part of the Lancashire Humanists monthly meeting, we have invited Nick Briggs to lead a discussion on how the concept of the Common Good can contribute to better dialogue in the public sphere.
    A meeting that is open to people of all beliefs, to be part of the Inter Faith Week activities.

    Inter Faith Week lectures

    Quaker Friends Meeting House, Stramongate, Kendal, Cumbria LA9 4BH. 10.30 – 13.00
    AWAZ Cumbria and the Westmorland and Furnes Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Partnership (WFDEIP) present two talks on inter faith. The first talk is by Mike Humphreys, the Chair of SLIF South Lakeland Interfaith Forum. He is an Elder of the Kendal Branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his talk is on Religious Freedom. There will also be a talk by Douglas Rathbone, a Congregational Church lay minister and United Reformed Church lay preacher. He has served as Mayor of Kendal and is a member of a local working group looking at Faith Covenants. His talk will be on Faith in Public Life in Kendal in the 1600's. This event is free and everyone is welcome to attend.…

    AUB Library, Arts University Bournemouth, 7 Fern Barrow, Wallisdown, Poole, BH12 5HH. 12.00 – 13.30
    This is a human library event with a variety of human “books” of different faith and belief backgrounds. They will be available to “borrow” to hear their stories. It is hosted in AUB Library, but is for students from both AUB & BU, and is led by Ruth Wells, chaplain of the shared Faith & Reflection Centre. This session will be repeated at 15:30 for those who can't make this lunchtime slot.…

    Divine Moon Interfaith Moot

    The Towers Inn (in the private family room), 636 Walsall Road, Great Barr, Birmingham, B42 1EY. 11.00 – 15.00
    We're hosting our second Interfaith moot this November!
    The aim of this moot is to bring people together from different faiths. To share knowledge and experience. To understand and celebrate each other. To form friendships. To promote the fact that there's more that joins us than that separates us.
    This year the moot will be held in a coffee morning style and we're aiming to raise funds for Macmillan's Coffee Morning charity. We'll be hosting a Q&A session and also doing a fun quiz. There'll be time to mingle and chat and everyone is welcome to join us for lunch afterwards (dietary needs are catered for).
    The meeting will take place in the family room at The Towers from 11:00am until approx. 3:00pm. This is a private space inside the pub where we can chat in a safe environment. The room is accessible for anyone with mobility issues.
    The event is free but you'll need to book your space via our Facebook group as there's limited capacity. Please only book a ticket if you're definitely attending this event.
    We'd love to get people from as many faiths as possible to attend.…

    In Times Of Need, Where is Spirituality?

    University of Surrey, Stag Hill, Guildford, GU2 7XH. 3.00 – 18.00
    Join us for an event exploring the role of spirituality in challenging times. Registration and refreshments start from 2.30pm and the event begins at 3pm.

    During this event, we will delve into the depths of spirituality and its significance when we face adversity. Through engaging talks and discussions, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of how spirituality can provide solace, guidance, and strength during times of need and putting this towards social action!

    Our panel of speakers, comprised of spiritual leaders and experts, will share their insights and personal experiences. Our speakers include: Julie Siddiqi MBE; Dr Kishan Manocha; Gagandeep Singh; Rev Chris Richardson; Laura Marks CBE; Nishi Joshi-Bhatt (all profile details available on the Eventbrite link) and will be chaired by Lord Lieutenant of Surrey Michael More-Molyneux.
