Talks on Religious Festivals

During Inter Faith Week, we welcomed Mike Hackleton (Methodist), Reverend Jackie Maw (Anglican), Muhammed Bahar (Islam), Sunitha, Gayarthri and Avy (Hinduism), and Jonathon Bluestone (Judaism).

The focus was festivals, and they each talked about different festivals in their religions, including Christmas, Easter, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hanukkah, Diwali and Holi. We sampled delicious Indian food, danced to Indian music, explored religious artefacts, listened to Jewish music, and made Eid cards. The children have been making links between the different religions and their festivals, and we learnt that Hinduism has a lot of festivals!
