Turning Prayer into Acts of Loving Justice

Tuesday 13 November 18.00 – 20.00

Lord Mayors Banqueting Hall, Portsmouth Guildhall, Portsmouth, PO1 2AB

"Turning Prayer into Acts of Loving Justice with Lama Rod Owens
As Professor Cornel West has advised, “Never forget that justice is what love looks like in public.” People of faith as well as believers of virtue must be on the front lines of justice embodying an ethic of love that translates into disrupting violence, caring of the oppressed, and speaking truth into the darkness of hate and ignorance. We must embrace our fear and see it as a teacher helping us move deeper into compassion for ourselves and others around us.

We are inviting people of all faiths to join Buddhist and social activist, Lama Rod Owens, who takes time out of his U.K teaching tour, for a discussion on this highly relevant topic for our times, and an exploration of their response in relation to their faith beliefs. Co-Hosted by Southsea Sangha & Portsmouth City Council."
