Synagogue Mitzvah Day Projects

St Albans Masorti Synagogue will conduct an impressive 11 projects overall, including:
1.Cheder Cupcake decoration. 100 decorated cupcakes to be shared out to local Women’s Refuge, Homeless Centre & Care Home.
2.Afternoon Tea with Syrian Refugees. Food & drink being jointly prepared with Syrian Mums beforehand. Provision to play backgammon with men; Crafts/ material event for women. Children activities being arranged. Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire [Robert Voss] attending
3.Tidy up event at local Cemetery. Joint event with local Muslims & Christians
4.Singing at Princess Alexandra care home
5.SAMS Ladies preparing Evening Meal for Centre-33. Meal for 25 homeless visitors at Centre33.
6.SAMS Tots visiting Verulam House care home. Singing nursery rhymes
7.Cheder visiting elderly in Verulam House care home.Talking to residents & giving out cupcakes to them.
8.Knitting for local homeless (‘Centre 33’) Chairman of Centre 33 attending 12:15 for handover of cakes & knitted scarves
9.Community Action Walk. Comprising litter pick and making notes any fly tipping, graffiti, hazards; to be reported back to St Albans Council. St Albans City Council supplying plastic gloves , litter pickers & black waste bags
10.Bug Hotel making workshop, to encourage insect biodiversity locally " It's both an arts and craft project as well as a conservation and educational project that intertwines facts about insect ecology into its construction"
11.COMMUNITY COLLECTION : School stationery for 'Goods for Good' charity
