Social Prescribing Awareness Training for Faith-Based Organisations
Monday 15 November 15.00 – 16.00
Colchester, UK
What is Social Prescribing? Sometimes, as well as or instead of medicine, what someone really needs might be practical help, a friend, physical exercise or good advice. Social prescribing means that this person can be referred to local organisations that provide these things.
Attending this training will provide information about social prescribing and how Faith Based Organisations can contribute to it, not just as providers but also referrers. The training will also give guidance on clarifying attendees ‘offers’ for social prescribing schemes. This training also supports collaborative working and will be great place for attendees to promote their offers / programmes / work.
Below are some examples of the topics which will be covered:
- The context and role of Social Prescribing Champions.
- Active listening and observation skills – Making Every Contact Count
- How to use databases and resources.
- Defining and utilising your assets.
