People from the different faith communities of Wakefield are joined by a group of primary school children for the symbolic tree- planting in a local park. This event brings everyone together for the benefit of local communities, wildlife and the environment. It is supported by tree wardens and council park staff and attended by the Mayor of Wakefield. The planting is followed by refreshments in a nearby church with opportunities to share readings, poems and thoughts on trees and nature from our faith traditions.
