Inter Faith Week activities
Monday 14 November 0.00 – 0.00 Friday 18 November
St Bartholomew's School Andover Road, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 6JP
This week, we are organising Inter Faith Week. The aims of this are to strengthen good interfaith relations, increase awareness of the different and distinct faith communities represented in our school, in particular celebrate and build on the contribution which their members make to our neighbourhoods and to wider society and to increase understanding between people of religious and non-religious beliefs. A range of activities are planned, including guest speakers in assemblies, for example, the Street Pastors, members of the Hindu community in Newbury and the Muslim community. The highlight of the week is the interfaith panel made up of representatives from religious and non-religious backgrounds. Year 9 and 13 students will get to ask them questions about their beliefs and practices as well as ask their perspectives regarding current affairs. Year 7 will get involved in a treasure hunt throughout the week as well as a quiz on Wednesday with lots of prizes to be won!
