Faith Builds Community Policy - Preview and Inter Faith Week Flag Raising

Tuesday 12 November 11.00 – 12.30

Barking Town Hall, 1 Clockhouse Avenue, Barking, IG11 7LU

Join us as we unveil the preview of the Faith Builds Community Policy and raise a flag to celebrate Inter Faith Week in Barking & Dagenham.

Over the past 11 months, the Council and the Barking & Dagenham Faith Forum have been working with our partner the Faith & Belief Forum, to create a new two-part document, with the vision of creating:

"A better connected, faith friendly borough, where people of all backgrounds feel safe, celebrated, and included"

We are excited to announce that the policy is now complete and we invite you to this special preview event, to view a representation of our shared vision for working together in Barking & Dagenham.

We spoke to over 100 of you to create this policy. It is the shared ambition and commitment of Barking and Dagenham Faith Forum, in partnership with faith communities and the Council. At the heart of the Faith Builds Community Policy is recognition of the need to reinforce the contribution of faith communities in our borough and focus on both the contribution and the challenges that we face together.

We will also be raising a flag to celebrate the diversity of faith organisations in the borough, during Inter Faith Week. Please join us from 11am in Barking Town Square as we raise the flag.

The schedule for the event is:
11:00 – Gather in town square for flag raising
11:05 – Welcome and Introduction speech
11:10 – Short speeches
11:20 – Sharing from local school
11:30 – Flag raising
11:35 – Photo call
