Celebration of UNICEF Children’s Day and Inter Faith Week with afternoon of art and discussion
Friday 20 November 0.00 – 0.00
Carter Hatch Junior School, Carterhatch Lane, Enfield EN1 4JY
Pupils have celebrated UNICEF Children’s Day and Inter Faith Week by having an afternoon of art to design posters to express, share and celebrate their beliefs. Linked to Article 14 from the United Nations Conventions on the Rights of the Child - Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and to also practice their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights - each year group discussed the importance of this right whist considering the message of Inter Faith Week to strengthen relationships between people of different religions and beliefs building awareness and understanding. Each year group was given a concept to develop in their artwork: Year 3 – Celebration of Beliefs;
Year 4 – A Community of Equality; Year 5 – A Place of Mutual Appreciation; and Year 6 - A City of Many Beliefs. The children shared their thoughts about this special celebration. Posters and quotes available at the second link.
