Celebrating Inter Faith Week
Tuesday 10 November 0.00 – 0.00
West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Hardwick Lane Bury St Edmunds Suffolk, IP33 2QZ
Staff from healthcare providers across Suffolk have come together to highlight Inter Faith Week with the launch of a special video. The video brings together staff from the trust with colleagues from St Nicholas Hospice and Wedgwood House, and describes how their chaplaincy services offer a place for people to deal with moments of great joy and great tragedy. The chapel at West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds would normally host services from a range of faiths including Church of England, Roman Catholic, and Islam, but most in-person services are currently on hold due to social distancing rules. Chaplain Rufin Emmanuel said: "Our chaplaincy work with our colleagues across west Suffolk - at our hospitals, at hospices, and reaching out into the wider community - brings together people of many beliefs for moments of reflection, comfort, and worship. We are proud to bring together people of many faiths, responding to their individual needs. We are celebrating Inter Faith Week, but for us every week is an inter faith week. We are here for patients, visitors, and staff in those important moments, whatever their need, whatever their beliefs."
