Multi Faith Tree Planting
Thursday 15 November 10.45 – 12.30
Thornes Park, car park, Denby Dale Road WF2 8DY
To celebrate Inter Faith Week and National Tree Week, members and friends of Wakefield Interfaith Network will be adding another tree to the growing circle of 'faith' trees in Thornes Park. This year they will plant a Cypress Oak which grows tall and slim, bringing the message “it is fine to be different”.The Mayor of Wakefield, local primary school children and a group of college students will also join this activity.
Following the symbolic planting there will be refreshments in a nearby church and an opportunity to share thoughts about trees from different faith traditions.
