The 'Faith in the Community Awards’ are the first of their kind in Bexley and are about celebrating the contribution that faith groups make to their local communities and the powerful transformation that can happen when faiths work together. Fifty-two projects, teams and people have been nominated and include food banks, friendship groups as well as education and sports initiatives.

Important information The awards are a partnership between Bexley Interfaith Forum and the London Borough of Bexley. THey will take place on Thursday 15 November at 6.30pm in the Civic Offices, Bexleyheath - Invite only. The Lord Lieutenant of London - Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE - will be among those presenting awards; he will also deliver the keynote speech. Also in attendance will be Bexley Members of Parliament, The Rt Honourable Sir David Evennett MP, the Rt Honourable James Brokenshire MP and Teresa Pearce MP. They will be joined by several other local civic leaders, including the Borough’s Deputy Lieutenant, Major David Hewer OBE TD DL, the Mayor and the Leader of the Council.
