Domestic abuse and faith: A vision for Leicester
Saturday 25 November 11.00 – 16.00
Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of Favour, 21/23 Wanlip Street, Leicester LE1 2JS
For faith leaders and paid or unpaid pastoral workers from faith communities in Leicester and Leicestershire to discuss the issues and share skills and good practice around helping people who disclose domestic violence. We know that domestic violence happens within families and relationships in all communities, and sometimes pastoral workers are the people who are confided in. Our vision is that this event will mark the start of continued training and support for faith groups. One goal is for every local faith organisation to have a trained Community Champion for domestic violence by the end of 2018. This event is supported by Leicester City Council.
